I wish there was a chance There should be more in the list Rozi, Half Plate, chand-girhan etc etc. A rerun of some of these on International Channels would be highly appreciated by the older as well as the present generations, and enable the Pakistani as also the Indian communities living abroad to understand each others’ cultures and ways of life which are common in many ways so that there is more cordiality and congeniality among them henceforth. I still watch them at least once very six months, thanks to YouTube. Undoubtedly all above drama serials are real gem of Pakistani TV history

Mandhan yes agreed we used to run towards homes in the evening leaving our favourite game of cricket to watch ainak wala jin. I enjoyed that one. To episodd that, Khuda ki Basti was also introduced on the syllabi of drama academies in Pune, India and around Europe.

OMG this article brings back such fond memories. I voted for Waris as No 1 as I remember the city of Lahore had a deserted look when this particular drama was telecasted. Top 10 lists are usually debatable, however its difficult to episoxe how masterpieces like ‘Aangan Tera’, ‘Andhera Ujala’ and ‘Jaangloos’ failed to make the cut and yet relatively lightweight stuff like ABC and Ankhaee did.
Such a shame that no such programmes are made in Pakistan aghosh.
Just by reading, Ainak Wala Jinn, I had flashback of the best 10 years of my life. Oh man, I may cry. I have watched some of these Dramas repeatedly and love them as they take me back to those old days.
Some commentors are questioning “Ainak wala jin”, it definitely belong in the list. The old but gold rule, saving for a rainy day, gets chucked out the window.
Today’s drama on television has no basis in our culture and country and worth nothing. Mar 17, So nostalgic to go through that list of dramas. Dhuwan and Sunehray Din are missing but I think shahnaz shaikh epitomizes women in Pakistan.

No rat race of rating, artist worked for the sake of art. Epissode of the dramas mentioned are not from the time when only ptv existed Kyaa yaad kara dya zaalim. Sometime I wish I could go back in time. May be time has change, we are more greedy for money.
It changed the way production-design was handled in Pakistani dramas. Pakistan may soon find itself in a situation where it has to accept disowned citizens of this or that Western country. Kiya yaad kara diya wah! Left out Dhuaan, it drwma getting igonored for some reason.
I am sometimes amazed at the talent we had and still have, the subtlety at which we are masters, the dialogue, acting, music A very interesting and good picks by Bismah. Angar Wadi should have been in this list.
Plus dastaan, zindagi gulzar hai, durr e shehwar, Pyaray afzal, mohabbat aab nahi hogi and recent dramas with religious themes such as Aik Pal and shanakht, are very much showing our ‘culture’ – whatever that is since our culture varies from province to province.
When these type of dramas will be made again. We like to say we’re going through a ‘revival’ of sorts when it comes to TV in Pakistan — but lets not forget dramas of yore, that were just as awesome in their day as Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai are now.
I can assure your Pakistan drama is more richer than Bollywood in terms of talent and professionalism.
The list of Pakistani top dramas will be incomplete with out Ashfaq Ahmed’s classic dramas!
